Phone addiction

Is Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and other social media making us dumber?

We are still just learning to use them, while they are as busy learning to use us

Experts on the internet, and on social media disagree, the voices points in all direction, while the amount of hours we spend in front of our screens explode, and the amounts of time we spend on each other face to face are going in the exact opposite direction, just as fast.

Nothing strange in that, we only have that many hours a day, and the more of them we spend on our screens, the less we have left.

But does it make us any happier?, any more connected or any more healthy, fit, or able to take better care of our planet?

Apparently what our use of social media and phones have in common with more traditional addictions, like drugs, smoking, out of control gambling, or drinking is… a lot.

I wonder if social media is a new kind of digital intelligent drug, getting smarter all the time, while making us less so…
