The multiverse of smells

The participants experienced first hand that air quality is much more than a linear dimension

Smell as a quality of place and experience

Illustration and text by Frits Ahlefeldt

A sense of place is not just about how a place look, the sounds or the view, air quality is a not always remembered quality, that is hard to grasp and describe, but still has a huge impact on how we experience and remember a place

Remembering as a watched the participants that the cognitive science of smell is also remarkable as it is wired very differently in our brains from the other senses.

On the tables were placed small samples of fresh cut grass, spices from foods, smells associated with Christmas and other things.
