New projects can run into what is called NIMBY: “Not in my backyard”

Many wants change, just not right there…

For most of us the first reaction to change is skepticism. We hesitate and read closely what enthusiastic project people would like to persuade us about. 

Whether it is a new national park, a playground, a climate project, a path, or the restoration of a watercourse, the reaction is often hesitant and sometimes people put themselves both metaphorically and physically in the way of the project
